About Us

Troop 156 is a scout-led troop that has been guiding young men toward leadership, responsibility, and service since 1957. We are part of Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) and are based in Glastonbury, Connecticut.

The troop is sponsored by The Congregational Church in South Glastonbury, and we meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM during the school year, usually in the Gideon Welles School cafeteria. Families are welcome to visit and see firsthand how our program works.

Throughout the year, scouts take part in monthly campouts, where they learn outdoor skills, teamwork, and independence. They also participate in community service projects, helping them grow into responsible and engaged citizens.

At its heart, Troop 156 provides a supportive environment where boys can build confidence, develop leadership skills, and form lifelong friendships—all while having fun.
